100 Bible Stories, 100 Bible Songs by Stephen Elkins, Illustrated by Tim O'Connor

100 Bible Stories, 100 Bible Songs is a children's book full of bible stories from throughout the Bible. Like the title suggests, this book includes 2 CDs that include a Bible song that goes along with each of the Bible Stories. I think that this would be a great book for children up to preschool age, especially the music.

Some of the Bible songs are more traditional, like "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands," while others are new. They mostly keep an upbeat tune and the lyrics are simple. I was disappointed that they didn't include the lyrics in the book at all, however they did include a website in the front of the book where the lyrics could be found.

The book is full of colorful pictures that would keep any child's attention. However, I was disappointed that the actual stories included in the book are not straight from the Bible. I think when we paraphrase bible stories and take out and put in details, they lose some of the meaning. I am a firm believer that our children need to hear and learn God's Word, His true Word, not a paraphrase.

However, if you are just looking for a book to teach your children basic Bible stories, you will be pleased with this book. But, remember, it is a Bible story book, not a Bible.
